Volunteers

We have a band of very willing volunteers who help out in many different ways, offering as little as a couple of hours per week, to 2/3 days. Some work on a one-to-one basis and help those trainees who are unable to cook or garden independently, and all have proved invaluable in their contribution in this learning environment.

We are however, always looking to increase this band of helpers.

If you are interested in finding out more, or would like to offer your services, please give us a call on 01243 783370 for a chat.

‘Hello I’m Maureen…. I have been a volunteer in the kitchen for over 4 years making lunches for the trainees; I also help them out making cakes on a one-to-one basis to sell in the shop. I enjoy myself very much and get just as much pleasure as the trainees’

‘Hello I’m Geinor…  Having retired from teaching I really missed contact with people. A friend suggested volunteering at Apuldram. I became a regular volunteer in the shop, working alongside a trainee serving Teas, Coffees and cakes, as well as selling the products produced here at the centre’

‘Hello I’m Terry…. I had recently moved to the area, when my wife noticed the advert in the local paper and became a volunteer herself. She suggested I pop in for a look around, and now I’m volunteering in the woodwork department two days a week. I find it relaxing and satisfying working alongside the trainees’
