The Day Centre provides a Monday to Friday service that enables working age adults with learning disabilities to take part in a wide range of occupationally focussed and enterprising activities. We offer flexible placements under contract with West Sussex County Council or by private arrangement. Attendees can access services for half or full days, everyday or a few days per week, subject to availability and needs assessment.
Our trainees are able to choose which areas of work they prefer to be involved with, our work departments are mainly focussed in the areas of; horticulture, cookery , woodwork, arts and crafts and shop/café . Many people will stay in one particular area while others choose to work in a variety of different job roles.
Work in the departments is aimed at being fulfilling, akin to a working environment and at a pace that meets the needs of the individual. We aim to allow our trainees to achieve their full potential, with help and encouragement towards increasing their independence, skills and experiences.
The Day Centre is a very relaxed and informal place where we try to let everyone be themselves whilst accepting that we each make a valuable contribution to the success of the centre.
Throughout the work orientated days we offer a range of enrichment activities including; sport, drama, music, fitness and community based projects, to name but a few….
The Day Centre is staffed by a dedicated and talented team of instructors who are supported by a wonderful array of volunteers, all working alongside our trainees to offer them the very best experience and care.
